ROOM FOR SEEING
June 12 - June 30 , 2025
See v. (sees, seeing, saw; past part. seen) 1. Perceive with the eyes 2. watch (a game, film, or other entertainment) 3. Experience or witness (an event or situation).
What does it mean to truly see? Is it just something our eyes are viewing or does it go deeper into a more molecular level, sinking into our mind and soul, instantly activating our sensory receptors to bring out a physical, mental and emotional response?
Our world is saturated with images and fleeting impressions. The human eye can perceive at least 10 to 12 frames per second resulting in a constant stream of visual input. In this overload of optical stimulation, the mind is easily distracted, pulled in multiple directions at once.
Room For Seeing invites the viewer to inhabit a space where looking, observing and perceiving are central. It’s an invitation to consciously pause and give time to the act of seeing in a more intentional manner. You look, you observe, you reflect and you look again. The works on display offer a myriad experiences and narratives. A sensory treat in which diverse artistic languages cohabit effortlessly. The eye moves from abstract, geometric illustrations devoid of figures to whimsical mythical journeys, finally settling on human reality, spaces, people and experiences. This is not just a room filled with things to see but it is a room for seeing, offering not only a visual experience but the possibility of seeing differently, beyond the surface, beyond the expected and beyond the visible.
